A YEAR OF CONVERSATION

A solo exhibition showing 52 ceramic portraits of

the people of Cardiff in conversation.

This exhibition represents conversations I have had with the people of Cardiff over the course of 12 months. They may have been with people I have travelled with on buses, queued with in shops or maybe with someone in a cafe over a coffee. These conversations have triggered a visual reaction in the speaker's face and my aim has been to capture these emotions expressed and translate them into the faces I have created.

The 52 heads in this exhibition have been created specifically for this show, making one head every week for a year. Individually, each head captures a moment of feeling, which multiplied 52 times creates a powerful representation of our emotions.
